Audition: new alto

We are auditiong for a new alto to join the group as a member.

ARS NOVA Copenhagen consists of 12 singers and is led by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Paul Hillier. The singers employ new members of the group in collaboration with the chief conductor. The audition takes place on Wednesday the 10th of April 2013 in Copenhagen from 10am to 2pm.

The audition: Candidates must sing a self-chosen song or aria by Johann Sebastian Bach, accompanied by our pianist. Also bring an 'art-song' in a different language from your chosen Bach-aria. After that we will test your sight-reading skills and ensemble singing.

Your profile: We expect you to be experienced as an ensemble singer as well as a soloist on an advanced professional level. We need a flexible singer with a sound that fits into the voice group, combined with the initiative of the solo singer.

The job: Ars Nova is a professional ensemble, and singers are paid by the hour. Rehearsals are normally held on week days from 10am to 2pm. Rehearsals can take place at other times. When employed for a project you are expected to participate in all rehearsals, concerts and tours.
