Requiem

Sunday, Mar 27th 2011 - 7:00pm
Arranged by:

The 15th century Flemish master, Johannes Ockeghem, composed the earliest polyphonic setting of the Requiem that has survived the ravages of time – and by any standards it is an outstanding work of art. This work was recently combined by Bent Sørensen with his own settings of various REquiem texts which Ockeghem did not set to music to form a complete setting of the Requiem Mass. The result is a unique and beautiful blending of Flemish polyphony, Gregorian chant, and Sørensen's own intricate linear style.
