Thomas Kiørbye

Bass
1993

I was born in 1964 i Esbjerg in the western part of Denmark and I have been a member of Ars Nova Copenhagen since 1993. From 1997 I have also worked as manager of Ars Nova. I hold a masters degree in musicology and philosophy from the University of Aarhus. My thesis “An American in New York” deals with the aesthetics of the composer John Cage. After some years of cello studies (terminated around the age of 20) vocal ensemble singing has been at the centre of my interest as a musician. I have studied singing with among others Jens Bundgård, Helge Frees Christiansen, Bodil Øland, Oren Brown and Kirsten Buhl Møller. I like classic and modern art – and what’s in between.
